PHP 8.2 is Now the Default for New Accounts & Websites
We’re excited to announce a significant update to our PHP environment! PHP 8.2 is now the default version for all new cPanel accounts and newly added websites to our Managed Cloud Platform.
We’ve offered PHP 8.2 as an option since April 2023, and it’s been embraced by many of our users. It has proven stable, offers a significant performance boost over previous versions, and boasts wide compatibility with popular platforms like recent versions of WordPress along with most plugins and themes.
PHP 8.2 on cPanel
For customers on our cPanel Cloud Hosting and Managed WordPress Hosting products, all newly created cPanel accounts will automatically default to PHP 8.2.
The PHP version of your existing accounts will remain unchanged unless you decide to switch to PHP 8.2 manually. We support a wide range of PHP versions (from PHP 5.x to PHP 8.x), ensuring backward compatibility for your applications.
We strongly encourage you to consider switching your existing accounts to PHP 8.2. You’ll likely experience a noticeable performance boost and enjoy the latest PHP features. If you’re ready to take advantage of PHP 8.2, you can easily upgrade your PHP version in cPanel.
Should you encounter any compatibility issues (which are increasingly rare), you can always revert to your previous PHP version with just a few clicks.
PHP 8.2 on Managed Cloud Server
For customers on our Managed Cloud Server product, all newly added websites to your server will automatically default to PHP 8.2.
The PHP version of your existing websites will remain unchanged unless you decide to switch to PHP 8.2 manually. We support a wide range of PHP versions (from PHP 5.x to PHP 8.x), ensuring backward compatibility for your applications.

PHP 8.3 for the Adventurous
For those who like to live on the cutting edge, we also offer PHP 8.3 since February 2024.
While this latest version offers even more performance enhancements and new features, compatibility with some older applications or plugins might be an issue.
While we recommend PHP 8.2 for most users due to its broader compatibility, feel free to give PHP 8.3 a try if you’re adventurous and willing to experiment with it! As always, you can revert to your previous PHP version or any other versions with just a few clicks.
